Dolce’s Legacy

I’m a passionate advocate for pets and their families, holding a Bachelor of Science in Pet Health Nutrition. For the past five years, I’ve dedicated my career to hospice and palliative care, specifically working with dogs battling cancer and other serious health conditions. Currently, I’m in the process of obtaining my Certified Animal Hospice Practitioner certification, further enhancing my ability to provide compassionate care.
In my Unity Program, I focus on dogs with kidney disease, neurological issues, cardiovascular problems, and cancer, offering 24-hour emergency support for the duration of their lives to ensure peace of mind for pet owners. I believe that hospice care is not just a job; it’s a profound calling to support both pets and their humans during life’s most challenging moments.
My approach is rooted in bond-centered care, which prioritizes the deep connection between you and your pet. I integrate food therapy, herbalism, and homeopathy, creating individualized care plans that cater to each dog’s unique needs and conditions. The Peaceful Paw

My name is Lori Gammon-Megginson, and I am the founder and driving force behind The Peaceful Paw. The inspiration for The Peaceful Paw originated from my deep bond with my beloved bulldog, Ike, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 14. Ike, a rescue, profoundly shaped my views on canine care, particularly in his later years. What began as a focus on canine massage and acupressure has grown into a broader mission. Today, The Peaceful Paw offers Pet Health Coaching and specialized expertise in Canine Nutrition. I specialize in transitioning canine diets to whole, fresh foods, and I provide support for gastrointestinal issues, endocrine imbalances, allergies, skin conditions, as well as cognitive dysfunction (CCD) and seizures. Additionally, I offer canine massage therapy to support overall wellness. I hold certifications in Acute Canine Herbalism and Acute Canine Homeopathy. I am also currently pursuing certification as a Certified Animal Hospice Practitioner, which will further enhance my ability to provide compassionate care and support to pets and their families during end-of-life transitions. My ultimate goal is to empower pet parents with the knowledge and resources they need to provide their pets with the highest standard of care.

The Toki Project

I specialize in addressing imbalances in the body that lead to skin issues and lipomas. Using whole food nutrition as our number 1 focus and then adding a few supplements as needed.

In early 2024, I Alyssa, founded The Toki Project—a program dedicated to providing a more foundational approach to dog health.

Simply put, The Toki Project is a place where pet parents can come to understand their dogs from the inside out—from the food they eat to the emotional and physical care they require. Through all the highs and lows, I’ve learned that caring for dogs is a journey that evolves with each unique relationship. The Toki Project is my way of sharing the knowledge, experience, and compassion I’ve gained, hoping to make a positive impact on the lives of dogs everywhere.

Guardian Paws Wellness

My journey as a canine nutritionist began when my beloved Mastiff, Toby, was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma. Witnessing the positive impact of whole foods and holistic medicines during his battle with cancer ignited a profound passion within me. Though Toby passed in 2021 after a courageous fight, his legacy inspires me to help as many dogs as I can.

At Guardian Paws Wellness, I specialize in transitioning dogs from kibble to raw or gently cooked foods, addressing issues such as allergies, gut biome health, joint problems, and coat and skin conditions. I am also dedicated to exploring herbal and holistic remedies to promote overall well-being. I am passionate about teaching my clients how to build a nutritious raw bowl for their dogs, empowering them to feel confident in providing a healthy diet. As a proud mom to two rescued Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mixes, I understand the importance of quality nutrition and care for our furry family members. Together, we can ensure our dogs live healthy, vibrant lives.
